ewton Safety & Consulting Services commenced operation in March 2016, The Owner, Peter Newton, worked in the Construction Industry as a Boilermaker Welder in 1976 then moved into the mining industry on the West Coast of Tasmania in 2 mines conducting duties from mill maintenance, mine rescue, general fitter & mechanical in the underground environment till 1986.
ewton Safety & Consulting Services commenced operation in March 2016, The Owner, Peter Newton, worked in the Construction Industry as a Boilermaker Welder in 1976 then moved into the mining industry on the West Coast of Tasmania in 2 mines conducting duties from mill maintenance, mine rescue, general fitter & mechanical in the underground environment till 1986.Moving from the West Coast back to Burnie in 1986, Peter would then spend the next 30 years at a local manufacturing company producing Underground Mining Equipment for the world market, during this period, he transitioned into WHS & Environment management team.
Peter has now spent 18 years in the field of WHS & Environmental Compliance, including safe production systems, 6 Sigma, Lean manufacturing, he has also supplied General training of personnel in First Aid , Evacuations & Emergencies, Preliminary High Risk licence checks prior to Assessments, General overhead crane operations, inspection of lifting equipment and record keeping systems.
His certifications include Cert iv TAE40110 for Training & Assessment, Diploma of Work Health Safety BSB51315, Initiate, Participate, Lead & Report Quality Audits as per BSBAUD501, BSBAUD402, BSBAUD503 & BSBAUD504, and SAI Global’s training attendance for Implementing & Maintaining an Environmental Management System.
