Newton Safety Technician can now provide a service to industrial sand blasting, paint booth & diving compressor environments in the way of breathing air quality testing, using the instrument of choice for monitoring the purity of breathing air in the low pressure range.
Contamination in compressor supplied air can be a serious health risk. Compressor breathing air quality testing provides confidence to the Employer to provide a safe place of work, and to workers that rely on the system for air.
The breathing air quality testing requirement for air supplied respirators is often one of the least understood elements of compressed-air-supplied breathing air equipment. Workplace Health and Safety Law requires that breathing air meet specified requirements and be tested to an agreed schedule as detailed in Australian Standard 1715:2009, Selection, Use and Maintenance of Respiratory Equipment, and for AS 2299.2007 Occupational Diving Operation must meet the following requirements.
(b) Contain not less than 20% and not more than 22%
(c) Contain not more than 11mg of carbon monoxide
(d) Contain not more than 900 mg of carbon dioxide
(e) Contain not more than 0.5 mg of oil
(f) Contain not more than 100 of water
